Discussion on Dasahara and Vijaya Dasami in Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch, Jaipur


 Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch, Jaipur organized a discussion on Dasahara and Vijaya Dasami today on the eve of the said festival. It is worth noted that Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch has been organizing weekly discussions on various topics since 1983. They organize it every Sunday.

Late Girdharilal Bhargav, MP, Jaipur and Late Dr. Ujala Arora, Minister, Rajasthan were the founder of this Manch.

Darshan Kothari, Chief speaker of the program told that Dasahara and Vijaya Dasami are one of the main festivals of Hindu Communities. Dasahara is a Kshatriya festival according to Hinduism. Rakhi is for Brahmins, Diwali for Vaisya and Holi for Shudra communities. These classifications are according to work distributions. All four sects celebrate and enjoy all four festivals. However, the nature of these festivals are liable for such classification. Kshatriya community worship their arms and weapons on the eve of Dasahara.

Rajasthan is the land of brave Rajputs. Hence, Dasahara has a great importance for them.
It is Vijaya Dasami in West Bengal. Bengali community enjoys "Kolakoli" in this day. Vijaya Dasami comes just after Durga Puja, the greatest festival of Bengal. Lord Rama (Ram) conquered Ravan (Demon King) on this day.

Tejkaran Parashar told that Dasahara is the establishment day of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a great volunteer organization of India.

Remembering Girdharilal Bhargava

Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch remembered late Girdharilal Bhargava, their founder convener on Sunday, March 7, 2010 on his first death anniversary.

Vaidya Harimohan Sharma, his childhood friend remembered him as chief speaker. He told that both he and Girdharilal Bhargava were closely associated in RSS. He remembered gradual uplift of Girdharilal Bhargava. He told that he had never thought that his friend would reach such height.

He has witnessed him from an ordinary person to a councilor and then to member of legislative assembly and finally the member of parliament. He added that Mr. Bhargava remained as simple as he was till his last day.

Vishwanath Agrawal, another close associate remembered how laborious he was. He informed that Mr. Bhargava was not only popular and a life long worker but also a vigorous reader. Mr. Bhargava used to study till late night preparing for his questions in the assembly and the parliament later on.

Tejkaran Parashar, another associate told that he used to type letters and News of Mr. Bhargava. Mr. Bhargava had been replying letters to all. He also sent letters for all condolence meetings in Jaipur.

Pradip Chouhan, Advocate, had worked with him for a long time in his election campaigns. He remembered how Brigadier Bhawani Singh, former Maharaja of Jaipur had come to meet him just after his defeat in MP election. Girdharilal Bhargava defeated Maharaja Bhawani Singh in his first election fought for Jaipur Parliamentary seat.

Jyoti Kothari told that he had never met Mahatma Gandhi but  Mr. Bhargava was resembling him. He was simple and remained simple life long. He also told that it is difficult to have another politician like him. He was remembering his days with Mr. Bhargava.

Mr. Manchand Khandela, told in his presidential address that he had respected Mr. Bhargava life long despite political rivalry. He told that he opposed Mr. Bhargava many times for political reasons but Mr. Bhargava remained cool. He added that Mr. Bhargava always heartily met and invited him. he was a true saint detached with all cravings and aversions.

The meeting was started with garlanding on the photographs of Mr. Girdharilal bhargava and ended with observing two minutes' silence to pay homage to the heavenly soul.

Death anniversary: Girdharilal Bhargava

Shree Girdharilal Bhargava, MP, Jaipur and convener of Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch left for his heavenly abode on Sunday,  March 8, 2009. We were preparing to go to the forum meeting when the sad news came in. We have conducted the forum meeting even on that day but as a condolence meeting with broken heart .

A year has passed since then. We are continuing forum discussions without him.  The sad day is approaching and we have decided to remember him on his death anniversary this Sunday, March 7, 2010.

Our forum discussion will be conducted to remember him and to pay him homage. All Jaipur citizens are invited to pay homage their beloved MP Sri Girdharilal Bhargava.

Holi: Color Festival of India

Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch organized forum discussion on Holi: Color festival of India on the eve of Holi festival on February 28, 2010.

Gyanendra Singh Shekhawat, Chief speaker, informed many salient features about Holi, the color festival of India. He told that this is the festival which abolishes all barriers among old and young, rich and poor. He told that Holi has provided an outlet to human emotions. It is symbol of victory of good over evils. He illustrated this with the story of Hiranya Kashyap and Prahlad.

Tejkaran Parashar informed that  the King of Jaipur used to go to Dashara Maidan and ignite Holi rubbing stones. The King used to ignite the fire at first and then every body  took the fire to ignite at their own places.

Jyoti Kothari added that Holi is a Shudra festival according to Hindu culture. It gives an outlet to human emotions related to "Tamasik" britti. Raksha bandhan is a Brahman, Dashara is a Kshatriya and Diwali is a Vaishya festival. However, every body enjoys all four festivals. He also told that the full moon day is generally considered as to increase madness. Holi, fall on the full moon day that increases activity of madness.

Moreover, it is the end of spring which is again season of Entertainment, joy and happiness. He also informed about Holi of Bengal and especially of Azimganj, Murshidabad.

Darshan Kothari told that he enjoys Holi very much with his friends. He and his friends enjoy colors.

Ashok Bothra, the presiding Dignitary appeal every one to play Holi peacefully and not to create any nuisance.

The forum discussion was ended with Holi songs and Jokes.

Chinese New Year

Today, the February 14, 2010 is Chinese New Year day. Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch organized a forum discussion on this topic Chinese New Year today.

Yashwant Golechha, chief speaker told that Chinese have twelve year cycles of time named on different animals. This year is referred as Tiger year in China. Chinese calendar is a lunar calendar whereas English or Gregorian calendar is a solar calendar. Therefore, Chinese New year days vary in different years in Gregorian calendar. Chinese people will celebrate fifteen days long New Year festival in traditional way. Most of the business, industries even government offices will be kept close during these days for eight days.

Jyoti Kothari told that there are lot of similarities between India and China. Chinese sweep clean their houses in hope of sweeping out ill luck and incoming good fortune just like Indians do in Diwali. He also told that Chinese people eat vegetarian food on the first and eighth days of the ceremony. They have a twelve year cycle as Indians have 30 years cycle in their Samvatsar calendars.

Ashok Barhat, Rampal Pareek, Mamta Kothari and Mirza Habib Baig "Paras" also participated in the discussion.

Narendra Shekhawat has presided over the meeting. Jyoti Kothari conducted the forum discussion and Pradip Chouhan offered vote of thanks. The meeting came to an end with observing two minutes silence to pay condolence to the victims of Pune bomb blast last night.

 Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch remembered Mahatma Gandhi today, January 31, 2010 in their forum discussion. Mohandas Karamchand Gandi, nicknamed as mahatma Gandhi was assassinated on January 30, 1948. As Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch meet on Sundays they remembered mahatma Gandhi today.

Ramraj spoke as chief speakar of forum discussion that Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a unique personality. He fought for India and brought independence to the country. He worked for his principles of Truth and Non-violence and never compromised with his principles. He was an ambassador of peace and harmony. The whole world remembers him even today, after 62 years of his assassination.

Jyoti Kothari informed about contribution of Mahatma Gandhi to the nation. Mahatma Gandhi had awaken the poorest and the weakest people of India to fight against mighty British rulers. He made Khadi a powerful weapon against rich cotton mills of Manchester, UK.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose defeated Pattavi Sitaramayya to win the post of President of Indian National Congress. Mahatma Gandhi made a statement that defeat of Sitaramayya was his defeat. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose resigned from the seat of President after this statement and quit Congress. Later on he formed Azad Hind Fauz and named one of its brigade as Gandhi brigade. Netaji himself declared Mahatma Gandhi as Rashtrapita (Father of the Nation). Few people know that the title of Rashtrapita is given to Mahatma Gandhi by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

The meeting was presided over by Rampal. Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch paid tribute to Gandhi by observing a silence for few minutes.

Tejkaran Parasar told that there were four main followers of Mahatma Gandhi in Rajasthan, Gokul Bhai Bhatt of Sirohi being the senior most. Puranchand Tunkalia, Siddharaj Dhadhha and Jawaharlal Jain were three others.

Pradip Chouhan told that photos of Mahatma Gandhi are placed in the Judicial courts of India. However, it is painful that the judiciary is not free of corruption.

Remembering Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

 Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch organized forum discussion remembering Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on Sunday, January 24, 2010. It is worth to be noted that 23rd January was the Birth date of Netaji.

Mahesh Swami, Chief speaker explained briefly about his life and his credentials. he told that Netaji inspired Indians with slogan "Tum hame khoon do, Main tumhe Azadi dunga." Subhash Chandra Bose organized Azad Hind Fauz and fought for Indian independence.

Vinod Sharma, Dr. Ritum Garg, Naveen Jain (Retired magistrate), Girdhari Sharma and Tejkaran Parashar also expressed their view.

Jyoti Kothari told that Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was a unique personality in Indian history. He not only worked as a general of Azad Hind fauz but also involved Germany, Italy and Japan in Indian national movement. He was a civilian but became Genearl of an army. He had given title of Rashtrapita (Father of Nation) to Mahatma Gandhi.

Ravi Bhanot presided over the meeting. Advocate Pradip Chouhan delivered vote of thanks.

Sanskar club and Gulabi Nagar meet jointly

Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch organized a joint meeting with Sanskar club, Jaipur on January 17 on topic "Mediclaim policies".

Chief speaker Ashok Jain, an insurance agent described about health care policies in India. He urged that it is necessary nowadays to have a medical insurance policy to mitigate sudden expenses occurred for medical treatment. MS. Sunanda Singh, Insurance officer, Oriental India also briefed the audience about mediclaim. Dr. Indu Saxena spoke about medical requirements. Members of Ladies club were also present in the forum discussion.

Ashok Hada, training officer, Bank of Baroda,  presided over the meeting. Pradip Chouhan and Tejkaran Parashar represented Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch.

It is decided that the next forum discussion will be hold on Sunday,  January 24 about Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on the eve of his birth day.

Discussing the Geeta on New year eve

The Geeta is one of the best text of all time. Lord Krishna preached Arjuna directly in the holy book. The Geeta is not only a religious book for Hindu community but it is for every one in the world.

Mr. Rampal said this at forum meeting in Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch, Jaipur on the New year eve. Forum discussion was organized on Sunday, January 3, 2010. Mr. Rampal was speaking as chief speaker in the forum discussion.

This was the first meeting of this year. Hence Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch started its journey for the year 2010 with the holy preachings of the Geeta.

Jyoti Kothari told that the Mahabharata is an internal story. Characters of the Mahabharat are replicas of our own evil and good. Our own mind id the battle ground of Kurukshetra. Kauravas representing evils and Pandavas the good of life. One can defeat his own internal evils of ignorance, anger, ego, greed, lust etc with the help and preachings of God.

Mr. Abhay Tiwari has presided over the forum meeting.
